Homophobia and transphobia continue to occur everywhere, and in many countries, this violence is state-sponsored and socially acceptable. LGBTQ identities continue to struggle for social acceptance and legal protection, and this struggle becomes even more complex when these identities cross borders into countries where the languages, values, understandings, and cultural traditions are very different. Given that educators are crossing borders to work in other countries, there can be serious implications for those who are LGBTQ, due to the controversial nature of their sexual and gender identity.
This research project plans to help LGBTQ international educators navigate the different social and legal systems that will shape their experiences overseas. Please consider participating in this important research project or sharing this poster among your networks.
